Stadium Club DC Press Dinner

July 2010

On July 12, 2010, after just two weeks of planning, Think Brown INK hosted a successful press dinner at Washington, DC’s new upscale adult entertainment club, Stadium. This project proved to be challenging as media is often leery of venues and projects of this sort. However, we reached out to all the prominent news organizations, securing 20 attendees from 13 different media outlets, including, CBS Radio, Washington Life Magazine, BET (Black Entertainment Television), Hot 99.5 FM, K-Street Kate, NBC, The Afro American Newspaper, Bisnow, Guest of a Guest DC and more. In addition, during the week leading up to the media dinner, The Washington City Paper food critic published a review of the club and restaurant. Photos and posts were also published by other media outlets in attendance.

A Match Made for Mercersburg (Valentine Development Campaign

February 2010

On January 15, 2010, two weeks before Mercersburg Academy’s (PA) February marketing and solicitation campaign was to drop, the director of annual giving, sought the services of TBI’s Natasha Brown. In one hour, Ms. Brown created a marketing plan, the theme, “A Match Made for Mercersburg” that would inspire constituents to give, knowing that each dollar would be matched by an anonymous donor. She also secured a graphic designer, printer and wrote the solicitation, which included a greeting card, carrier envelope, pledge card and web page. Ms. Brown managed the campaign, and sent weekly e-marketing, Facebook and Twitter messages to constituents. When the campaign was complete, the school had raised over $450,000 for private education, which was more than double the amount that had been raised during the previous February.

Hip-Hop 4 Haiti

 January and February 2010

After the tragic earthquakes in Port-Au-Prince on January 12, 2010, Think Brown INK partnered with HoneyComb Set LLC to create the nation’s first Hip-Hop 4 Haiti event in Washington, DC. In two hours, the pair had secured 22 artists, a popular nightclub (Pasha Lounge), a DJ, hosts and graphic designers. The first Hip-Hop 4 Haiti raised money and tons of food and clothing. TBI then partnered withthe National Hip-Hop 4 Haiti Movement, which occurred in 33 cities, to create a second benefit concert at Layla Lounge to collect food and clothes for Haiti earthquake survivors.
