DC’s Inaugural “The Art of a Woman” Celebrates Women in Fashion, Art, Entertainment and Media
Event Receives Great Reviews from Entrepreneurs and Tastemakers
(Washington, DC) — Days after Washington, D.C’s inaugural “The Art of a Woman” event on Saturday June 19, the buzz continues. Reviews from attendees, vendors, models, fashion designers, media and artists demonstrate that there’s power and unity in “The Art of a Woman.”

This was a female-powered fashion and art exhibit, presented by Think Brown INK and HoneyComb Set LLC., which included a fashion show with swimwear by Lara Epps, couture fashion by Dominique Auxilly, and collections by Ke’Chic Boutique, Traci Lynn Fashion Jewelry, G-Style Gems and more. In addition, the artwork of DC area artists James Terrell, Ja’ Ski “The Abstract Princess,” and Glen “Foo” Brown added to the ambiance. Twelve vendors of fashion, jewelry, art and organic products completed the event.
Special guests included Author Helena Andrews, who read an excerpt from her new memoir Bitch is the new Black, Ms. Maryland Globe Tiffany Parker, and Recording Artist RAtheMC. The Art of a Woman welcomed many creative entrepreneurs, media personalities, artists, and tastemakers.
The event took place at DC’S most-authentic new lounge, District Restaurant and Lounge in Adams Morgan, and was hosted by supermodel in the making Marisa Elise, who is featured in the July issue of Source Magazine, with music by DJ Heat of WPGC 95.5 FM and The Big Tigger Morning Show.
